More D's for McCain

Despite all their talk of unity, the Democrats are bitterly divided.

Millions of Democrats believe Barack Obama is not ready to lead. Democrats are concerned that Barack Obama does not have the experience, judgment and leadership we need today when our country is facing critical challenges at home and abroad.

· Even Joe Biden has said that Barack Obama is not ready to lead.

All Barack Obama has are beautiful words, but on the issues, what Barack Obama says and what he does are two different things.

· Barack Obama says he will change Washington, but in the U.S. Senate, he requested nearly $1 billion in pork barrel spending. That’s a million dollars for every day he's been in office. Barack Obama was only eleven years old when Joe Biden went to Washington.

· Barack Obama says he will only raise taxes on the rich, but in the Senate, he voted for tax hikes that would have impacted those making just $42,000 per year. He has proposed tax increases on income taxes, capital gains taxes, dividend taxes and Social Security taxes.

· Barack Obama says he wants energy independence, but he opposes new drilling at home; opposes nuclear power; and opposes encouraging invention of an advanced, affordable electric car.

· On Iraq, Barack Obama says he wants peace, but even today he opposes the surge strategy that succeeded in Iraq and will succeed in Afghanistan. Barack Obama's policy of unconditional withdrawal could result in renewed violence and a third Iraq war.

If Barack Obama doesn’t have the strength to speak openly and directly about how he will address the serious challenges confronting America, how will he be strong enough to really change Washington?

Our nation doesn't need another politician in Washington who puts self-interest and political expediency ahead of problem solving.

Barack Obama's decision to "pass over" Hillary Clinton for vice-president without even a vetting or a phone call has served to only exacerbate tensions with the Democrat Party.
