The PCRRO

History of the Passaic County Regular Republican Org.

Passaic County Regular Republican Org became the official Republican Organization for Passaic County in the early nineteen eighties. It's first Chairman was Anthony 'Red' Murphy who served until his death in 1992. He was succeeded by his son, Peter Murphy, who resigned in September 2001. Murphy was replaced by PCRRO Vice-Chairwoman Jan Sandri who called a special meeting for February 2002 at which Michael Mecca won election. Mecca served until June 2006. He was replaced by current Chairman Scott Rumana.

What The PCRRO Stands For: Our Beliefs

We believe the strength of our nation lies with the individual and that each person’s dignity, freedom, ability and responsibility must be honored.

We believe in equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, sex, age or disability.

We believe free enterprise and encouraging individual initiative have brought this nation opportunity, economic growth and prosperity.

We believe government must practice fiscal responsibility and allow individuals to keep more of the money they earn.

We believe the proper role of government is to provide for the people only those critical functions that cannot be performed by individuals or private organizations and that the best government is that which governs least.

We believe the most effective, responsible and responsive government is government closest to the people.

We believe Americans must retain the principles that have made us strong while developing new and innovative ideas to meet the challenges of changing times.

We believe that governments first and foremost responsibility is the providing of safety and security to our citizens.

We believe that the rights of law-abiding citizens should outweigh the rights of criminals and that the enforcement of existing laws, combined with the addition of innovative, common-sense policies, is the best means of furthering a civil society.

We believe that our natural environment is a precious resource for all humankind, and that citizens and government should work together to implement common-sense policies that allow for both environmental protection and economic growth.

We believe Americans value and should preserve our national strength and pride while working to extend peace, freedom and human rights throughout the world.

FINALLY, We believe the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating these ideals into positive and successful principles of government on the Local, County, State and National level.
